2022 UGANDA RECAP
In June of 2022, E.R.I.C. was invited by the Paul McBeth Foundation to join on a service trip to Uganda the following December. They were on a mission to build disc golf courses and invited along us to fulfill our mission, saving lives through early recognition, however we saw fit. As we started doing our research, we found that:
A week long trip was not enough. We decided to forego visiting ourselves, and instead invested in developing a local program working with women from the community. In September 2022, we hired our first full-time Ugandan employee, Damalie Musasizi, as our on-site coordinator, and shortly thereafter added an assistant, Joviah, to work alongside of her. Together, these two incredible women planned and enacted a three month long education campaign, culminating in a full day training for 80 village health team (VHT’s) workers. The VHT’s received certifications from the Ugandan Cancer Institute on how to teach other women self screening techniques. In 2023 we look forward to expanding this program into many other regions in
